<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hey guys! So sorry it's been so long since I've updated but I'm back with my favorite craft yet!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've been making bows for a while but I finally found a pattern that ends up making the bow more stiff which makes the bow much cuter when pinned in hair. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyways, here's how you make it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's what you'll need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Jean material (I was able to make two bows out of one pant leg, but it was men's jeans, so there was a bit more fabric in each leg)</li>
<li>Sewing materials (needle, thread, safety pins or pins, scissors)</li>
<li>Ruler </li>
<li>Sharpie</li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVdUL4YkqmNQ1SLI_IfwDg9Ov3gUBGniOP2XLMCSuX8kvkurnaYX3nGEZuvMfC29F6_WPbI7qE_gxnaRXwdVmtisT3OHXL2DZQoLht59W_kbKOrvIzrTozcwEYzgfZb_XD9LU0Tm2u_aI/s1600/DSCN2490.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVdUL4YkqmNQ1SLI_IfwDg9Ov3gUBGniOP2XLMCSuX8kvkurnaYX3nGEZuvMfC29F6_WPbI7qE_gxnaRXwdVmtisT3OHXL2DZQoLht59W_kbKOrvIzrTozcwEYzgfZb_XD9LU0Tm2u_aI/s320/DSCN2490.JPG" style="cursor: move;" width="320" /></a>Step 1: Cut out a large rectangle in the pant leg</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_7Et5-S1tbu9g1a2e3qg-dtMcL7FDvCCuXqw66O2nHumUDmJLu9wRHeycUIOP6JCDHy-WVZMDnNlCka26LUwIFJ7VT39IgQMf8cRCuR2I60PHdvOZy0PkZHC1DKLLA2AEIF9t_ZLUgpg/s1600/DSCN2491.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_7Et5-S1tbu9g1a2e3qg-dtMcL7FDvCCuXqw66O2nHumUDmJLu9wRHeycUIOP6JCDHy-WVZMDnNlCka26LUwIFJ7VT39IgQMf8cRCuR2I60PHdvOZy0PkZHC1DKLLA2AEIF9t_ZLUgpg/s320/DSCN2491.JPG" width="320" /></a>Step 2: Cut off any hems</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVQVwSr167FjiujuHa5MFCU2EmsqbATTqHTkeKtztpF7564Ltxwh95hToii4mERb7VFr0HBHL4EOS5fAay7TLNBa3M-iYXPrI4Di7KVjAOHRKxsqjI5TA2fsOC5rg0VLPMfKzFs7RnK8k/s1600/DSCN2494.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVQVwSr167FjiujuHa5MFCU2EmsqbATTqHTkeKtztpF7564Ltxwh95hToii4mERb7VFr0HBHL4EOS5fAay7TLNBa3M-iYXPrI4Di7KVjAOHRKxsqjI5TA2fsOC5rg0VLPMfKzFs7RnK8k/s320/DSCN2494.JPG" width="320" /></a>Step 3: I used a bow to measure out how big I wanted the bow to be, but you could just eye it and see. Make sure to measure out DOUBLE the horizontal length of your bow and add about 2 or 3 inches vertically and horizontally about 1 or 2 inches.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqUQkSt5vB8nIpjbCsL335fsGoiM6LnXB90YFIPyAJ4sk6PDQEA-4sjHRAiF0a7Sfi6k6_6eRqDll4simGT5zQMb_QyTTlrJDAE_Ijqew9zLSPqk2g8CDVQMha1upBFn2yrvTkjapWxLE/s1600/DSCN2495.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqUQkSt5vB8nIpjbCsL335fsGoiM6LnXB90YFIPyAJ4sk6PDQEA-4sjHRAiF0a7Sfi6k6_6eRqDll4simGT5zQMb_QyTTlrJDAE_Ijqew9zLSPqk2g8CDVQMha1upBFn2yrvTkjapWxLE/s320/DSCN2495.JPG" width="320" /></a>Step 4: I used a ruler and sharpie to draw straight lines for me to cut along<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNTnFk1jhHnsTa_qUFMIdzUNF47R9NqYqDQiCYSAUrmw3RbDVlsckOZKQ3x-JRN4gauNKGNDLz72tOU-YYk7Z2st0UTTdHz4TVkCazlJIepIYeruUTpWbuLUjBXjX9X1xRcBc60dJ9xzg/s1600/DSCN2496.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNTnFk1jhHnsTa_qUFMIdzUNF47R9NqYqDQiCYSAUrmw3RbDVlsckOZKQ3x-JRN4gauNKGNDLz72tOU-YYk7Z2st0UTTdHz4TVkCazlJIepIYeruUTpWbuLUjBXjX9X1xRcBc60dJ9xzg/s320/DSCN2496.JPG" width="320" /></a>Step 5: Fold the rectangle so that the two ends come together in the middle in the back of the bow. Pin together the two sides making sure that the two pieces of fabric overlap in the middle about 1 inch.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9UmbU8eGTH1l7QyQO4vs0URHTPnaCJfVJPmtlZvOuzvKwk5yn5YqVwrudf1_U8e4bo-4qMSo_rl74kLgeTHUkpoxPh5mZvH-SfvcQbChBGuAfGc8t4iB89qcxUVDB21agJG11PIOCptM/s1600/DSCN2497.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9UmbU8eGTH1l7QyQO4vs0URHTPnaCJfVJPmtlZvOuzvKwk5yn5YqVwrudf1_U8e4bo-4qMSo_rl74kLgeTHUkpoxPh5mZvH-SfvcQbChBGuAfGc8t4iB89qcxUVDB21agJG11PIOCptM/s320/DSCN2497.JPG" width="320" /></a>Step 6: Fold in the top and bottom flaps so that the bow won't fray. Pin them down. (Notice the difference between the top and the bottom... MUCH better!)</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP3EjYmDa0GvLXHiJMNAmM0Lkcxg2EhPNb_T6mSi_y8Oj1Z1tTrZHzP7xlx5EbtTq1D05AxHfalQ0aQh6PqLLATJRPZEWXwTA7oneRUzKm-5dxjWfOtSm8OCRgcEERvLs3axH1dzWbFno/s1600/DSCN2499.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP3EjYmDa0GvLXHiJMNAmM0Lkcxg2EhPNb_T6mSi_y8Oj1Z1tTrZHzP7xlx5EbtTq1D05AxHfalQ0aQh6PqLLATJRPZEWXwTA7oneRUzKm-5dxjWfOtSm8OCRgcEERvLs3axH1dzWbFno/s320/DSCN2499.JPG" width="320" /></a>Step 7: Begin sewing up the middle seam and around the edges of the bow.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's what mine ended up looking like once everything was sewn down and the pins were out</div>

<span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: left;">I have a very limited supply of sewing materials so all I had was some white thread and a needle to hand sew with, so I had to make do. At first I was just sewing normally which made the thread a little too noticeable for my taste so I started barely moving the needle on the front of the needle and then moving it on the back side of the bow...if that made any sense.. </span><br />

You don't have to worry so much about the thread being seen because a piece of fabric will go over the cinched area.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's better to make it too long and then cut off the extra part.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Pin down the fabric and then sew down the middle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilVrKZTcqT9SIOQUHteG5Xidjx5_pYLVDW9q-inMPxBGl8wXcJ9sPIG_WDL4xq6dzPrzlb9GbA9xcOzM0BW4mTGB84HoDyWKx7GTpuuOw1YFM2uvzB-JTL1QrUAO8DeopKeekgcWN8l3M/s1600/DSCN2509.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilVrKZTcqT9SIOQUHteG5Xidjx5_pYLVDW9q-inMPxBGl8wXcJ9sPIG_WDL4xq6dzPrzlb9GbA9xcOzM0BW4mTGB84HoDyWKx7GTpuuOw1YFM2uvzB-JTL1QrUAO8DeopKeekgcWN8l3M/s320/DSCN2509.JPG" width="320" /></a>Step 12: Wrap the smaller fabric strip around the cinched area of the bow and sew together the ends. Cut off any extra parts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And you're done! Here's what mine ended up looking like!</div>

<div>
Hey guys! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One of my best friends, Angelica, is in town and we both LOVE DIY projects, so when we got together yesterday, our first stop was Goodwill! We picked up some cute stuff, but also some disgustingly hideous dresses that we saw potential in. One of those dresses was this one below:<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-JET_1JbgZCZIxTe_PgLJnO3UFGjjnyX0lTsbcMrHKJF1HM6r-UDzhgvhnlupCHrObAndDJZwT41U-Njg-9_2ZP3_Oqa-LZi6gsjKtQ7CgvngTPJ22vRfqEiKy9tzp_yv88LKOZf5JIY/s1600/Before+Back.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-JET_1JbgZCZIxTe_PgLJnO3UFGjjnyX0lTsbcMrHKJF1HM6r-UDzhgvhnlupCHrObAndDJZwT41U-Njg-9_2ZP3_Oqa-LZi6gsjKtQ7CgvngTPJ22vRfqEiKy9tzp_yv88LKOZf5JIY/s320/Before+Back.jpg" width="240" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6beaw8yqo_iERiweZD_R0ATNtQbNDQw6tC2h5jlEo-ZNoaq1jTuNi5abtoKD53_zQc3-d_MpayUtRgg7rg4ryZLaAQTypDgGu5LHa25iMKnhnsaVAAjlQyzKMl5yjL-ud7kaUKaWS_5Y/s1600/Before+Front.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6beaw8yqo_iERiweZD_R0ATNtQbNDQw6tC2h5jlEo-ZNoaq1jTuNi5abtoKD53_zQc3-d_MpayUtRgg7rg4ryZLaAQTypDgGu5LHa25iMKnhnsaVAAjlQyzKMl5yjL-ud7kaUKaWS_5Y/s320/Before+Front.jpg" width="102" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Excuse my dog in the background haha)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Not the best photo quality, but you get how old-ladyish it was..</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This was my first time sewing a piece of clothing, so it wasn't the best, but I'm pretty proud of how it turned out!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well, here's how I turned it around!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here's what you'll need:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<ul>
<li>Dress</li>
<li>Scissors </li>
<li>Pins</li>
<li>Sewing needle</li>
<li>Thread</li>
<li>Mirror</li>
</ul>
<div>
Step 1: Try on the dress and figure out how short you want it to be. Mark it with chalk so it will rub off later.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSAUSrVb508agdrMQ44FdzMFZgDDxcwOH-KO2Eg86_pADdqJhuPOrY7wUIAVJhCZCwfZOdWOmk-D-JXhxvW8hinQCCpIm8ufOUJM6P_ZvHs-zrP4ljkwrxAFhkfkl-uEokzHjGj4VgnCM/s1600/fold.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSAUSrVb508agdrMQ44FdzMFZgDDxcwOH-KO2Eg86_pADdqJhuPOrY7wUIAVJhCZCwfZOdWOmk-D-JXhxvW8hinQCCpIm8ufOUJM6P_ZvHs-zrP4ljkwrxAFhkfkl-uEokzHjGj4VgnCM/s320/fold.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: Take off the dress and find where you marked it. Fold it over to make a straight line of where you'd like to cut it, but <b>add enough fabric to the end so that you can fold it over twice. </b>(I did about 4-5 inches, but it's always better to make it longer than shorter).</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXkvAQ7i5WQrPLcyeOuV_NRqSNuO9-V8d-eXZHPKr_tVxas4kCZEgvAp3bCGR5_44Pk4uI44AweGtWkZiRPM2HVi0qQoLMWNJ7_LrREmoxK1udqOaXXMfYElEmgaIRdU8fXFB0yV4fgpA/s1600/cutting.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXkvAQ7i5WQrPLcyeOuV_NRqSNuO9-V8d-eXZHPKr_tVxas4kCZEgvAp3bCGR5_44Pk4uI44AweGtWkZiRPM2HVi0qQoLMWNJ7_LrREmoxK1udqOaXXMfYElEmgaIRdU8fXFB0yV4fgpA/s320/cutting.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3: Cut in a <b>straight line.</b> I didn't do that part so well and it made this whole process a LOT more difficult than it had to be.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc2nSOm18yWkpoQi-O9YyX0Hg8-H3Mo-YmDZGnZVKrN01jxXUqhut8IwSpA1Q7aygzNbKlyZ9tdqXI66VbAxHeIJ5pPdbrnrGkDvL-GK_5oMA68PYeTZXUTbetdP6gO3WTZ8zBBheW384/s1600/cut+dress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc2nSOm18yWkpoQi-O9YyX0Hg8-H3Mo-YmDZGnZVKrN01jxXUqhut8IwSpA1Q7aygzNbKlyZ9tdqXI66VbAxHeIJ5pPdbrnrGkDvL-GK_5oMA68PYeTZXUTbetdP6gO3WTZ8zBBheW384/s320/cut+dress.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 4: Next, lay the dress inside out on the floor and fold up the hem twice. Folding it twice keeps it from fraying. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 5: Use pins to hold the hem where you want it. My dress was a bit silky and didn't stay in place very well, so I used an iron to make the fabric stay in place better.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 6: Keeping the pins in, sew the dress along the seam with thread that matches the color of the dress.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 7: As you pass each pin, you can take them out. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 8: Once all the pins are out, turn the dress back the right way, try it on, and enjoy!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9BGn242FsQ2DAYYtPMbS4lN8Egh6gEhRAkT-gA0IWaolMgR8aDI4srMycMjBF3riPcpUC0tFxMMZlf6_S-UizZv6LMb4sDH-G8paPQ1xJf7aoViuojroei_cDcubcZHgxYb8rAsU9xn8/s1600/After+Front.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9BGn242FsQ2DAYYtPMbS4lN8Egh6gEhRAkT-gA0IWaolMgR8aDI4srMycMjBF3riPcpUC0tFxMMZlf6_S-UizZv6LMb4sDH-G8paPQ1xJf7aoViuojroei_cDcubcZHgxYb8rAsU9xn8/s320/After+Front.jpg" width="202" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeiirtRYDjN2tZetLx6p5qcgDUJZ7ck1O61BoU_DXXNAmiMD2DtDyGFb-2KySRMeu8kZzsjmUmHrwWTTFh4FGU-9BwS7tVxxngUyztMdQGtv720kXRJF2JDzd4bMrwBEHzZbP-QI7FsoA/s1600/After+Back.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeiirtRYDjN2tZetLx6p5qcgDUJZ7ck1O61BoU_DXXNAmiMD2DtDyGFb-2KySRMeu8kZzsjmUmHrwWTTFh4FGU-9BwS7tVxxngUyztMdQGtv720kXRJF2JDzd4bMrwBEHzZbP-QI7FsoA/s320/After+Back.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<div>
So it was just a simple tutorial of how to hem a dress, but I was pretty proud of how it turned out so I decided to post it anyways :)</div>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">
Tutorial</h2>
<div>
Hey guys! SO sorry it's been so long since I've posted! I've been so busy, especially with my senior year coming to a close. With graduation approaching, I've been planning my summer, and I'm getting more and more excited the closer it gets! This summer I'll (hopefully) be visiting up to six countries - Mexico, the Philippines, Spain, Italy, France, and Canada! I've already traveled to several different locations, so I decided to make a DIY project that would help me keep track of all my traveling memories! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here's what I used:</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Colored pencil (Blue)</li>
<li>Sharpie (Red and black)</li>
<li>Large world map</li>
<li>Yarn (Black)</li>
<li>Glue</li>
<li>Push pins</li>
<li>Tape</li>
<li>Pictures</li>
</ul>
<div>
Step 1: I ordered my map from Kinkos/FedEx and it ended up being about $25. The picture I used was the one below and from <a href="http://www.earthchronicle.com/ECv1/Atlas/WorldOutlineMercator.html" target="_blank">this</a> site.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFzKA3wxa_P9WrfBPshsf5dnFzHQrjDdpNYzbWfaraMvVrDTytxDfLbWL00JUSS6u_afAUL5P_EPewsrQVoeEZa6C9Ssu0HONii99MgiM7cWa_5asdEHMt5Y7huTEW364-wfJIanCl5Fs/s1600/WorldOutline-MercatorProjection-picasa.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="185" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFzKA3wxa_P9WrfBPshsf5dnFzHQrjDdpNYzbWfaraMvVrDTytxDfLbWL00JUSS6u_afAUL5P_EPewsrQVoeEZa6C9Ssu0HONii99MgiM7cWa_5asdEHMt5Y7huTEW364-wfJIanCl5Fs/s320/WorldOutline-MercatorProjection-picasa.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 2: Then I ordered the photos that I wanted. I chose one photo from each location I had been that I felt best represented my time there. The photos I ordered on Walgreens.com. I only have 5 so far and it ended up being just a little over a dollar after tax.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 3: When I picked up my map I saw that the image didn't turn out great and looked a little pixalated once blown up, so that's where the black sharpie came in. I traced over the outlines in black sharpie to make the map look better and then colored the waters with a light blue colored pencil. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihE7jyyVJZP1FX_9xnjbS19MQQtMRPtwXueh5OBRawwLd-573HlmyBVtCzZ6HNNpt4LKytqz3TiXFZlRItS6xlNcqHrOrbw3GVv4C79aqWbEAplmFpNtElfEdnUtJxLQY0aTl_CFENeB0/s1600/photo+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihE7jyyVJZP1FX_9xnjbS19MQQtMRPtwXueh5OBRawwLd-573HlmyBVtCzZ6HNNpt4LKytqz3TiXFZlRItS6xlNcqHrOrbw3GVv4C79aqWbEAplmFpNtElfEdnUtJxLQY0aTl_CFENeB0/s320/photo+3.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 4: Then I colored in the places I had been in red sharpie.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 5: Next, I cut pieces of black yarn and put a dot of glue on one end and placed that end on the location I visited. Then I stretched that yarn outside of the map and taped it to my wall. I did that for each location I visited </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 6: Using a pushpin, I put up the photos over the end of the yarn, thus connecting the location on the map to the photo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And that's it! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFxJuTVcALKmm5NJsPd8nSH-4zlO5aUvqlwYctXAuf5SIcVYk3vV0bbzCbiDgCQrKgEGAwwnnT2OqGPRJGPIumqWjPiEZL_1vH5Vlbskn7CKcNWEwGO2VshEI2KDWKDBL_IP7KUY0B1hQ/s1600/photo+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFxJuTVcALKmm5NJsPd8nSH-4zlO5aUvqlwYctXAuf5SIcVYk3vV0bbzCbiDgCQrKgEGAwwnnT2OqGPRJGPIumqWjPiEZL_1vH5Vlbskn7CKcNWEwGO2VshEI2KDWKDBL_IP7KUY0B1hQ/s320/photo+2.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sorry that it was a super easy (and maybe self explanatory) tutorial.. I needed something easy to ease me back into blogging since I've been gone for so long!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've got a couple of longer-term projects coming up as well as some college dorm room DIYs that I plan on doing this summer in preparation for my freshman year at college next year! Ah, so many exciting things coming up! Stay tuned :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hey guys!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So sorry for the lack of posts recently! With Easter comes the annual Easter Celebration production at my church, so I've been behind about just about everything- including my blog. But now it's spring break, leaving me with plenty of time for crafting. :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Speaking of spring... the warm weather makes my knitted bows kinda out of the question, so I had nothing to accessorize my hair with! Until I found some lace fabric...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are the supplies you'll need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Lace</li>
<li>Hot glue gun</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Bobby pin </li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUiiZmYXT_ld3JXdkD1KxotHZtxcPXjNtT4RGZ2dpFFrUmKFIJhIz-yTYVgqFyOQZeXktSgXsiQ3orXcoS4YTXwyIxm3eSUOeTbg4npIS6Jw5CceeKeOc9gYz_5QtiNU-6WfeInGEXl40/s1600/IMG_0065.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUiiZmYXT_ld3JXdkD1KxotHZtxcPXjNtT4RGZ2dpFFrUmKFIJhIz-yTYVgqFyOQZeXktSgXsiQ3orXcoS4YTXwyIxm3eSUOeTbg4npIS6Jw5CceeKeOc9gYz_5QtiNU-6WfeInGEXl40/s320/IMG_0065.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I went to Michaels to buy some lace but I couldn't find anything except this lace umbrella, so I just bought it and cut the lace off of the plastic frame of the umbrella. It actually worked well, but it would be much easier to actually buy lace on it's own, and I'm sure you get more lace for your money.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvs3tA-Mzh0SsekATPiraSNjtkkbg0xOvXT6N9m5r6ERwO4uRLgOXepHoPQj7AqoLbK8UP4o-vlwL2-S2KCCXSc30eJrJRKhHazPO_0q5QrWhgt7E3cUC6gBst-8W8_qkks2Mg9yoBdl4/s1600/IMG_0067.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvs3tA-Mzh0SsekATPiraSNjtkkbg0xOvXT6N9m5r6ERwO4uRLgOXepHoPQj7AqoLbK8UP4o-vlwL2-S2KCCXSc30eJrJRKhHazPO_0q5QrWhgt7E3cUC6gBst-8W8_qkks2Mg9yoBdl4/s320/IMG_0067.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 1: Fold your fabric in half.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeLIMIFjkXc57hUn40RzukM5npIJ_qLrDP8khIh0Brerrv1ecQSob9p3c1jGIhFgKCcS3AhQLs4rmTjoo8FAYxg6cOtX3ZKTw7dV9m9Zk_KYKWqHX7IO-dDBqUUtN0Ace95WB8Fov4jjU/s1600/IMG_0068.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeLIMIFjkXc57hUn40RzukM5npIJ_qLrDP8khIh0Brerrv1ecQSob9p3c1jGIhFgKCcS3AhQLs4rmTjoo8FAYxg6cOtX3ZKTw7dV9m9Zk_KYKWqHX7IO-dDBqUUtN0Ace95WB8Fov4jjU/s320/IMG_0068.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: Cut your fabric.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now you can decided how big or small you want your bow to be, but remember that you fabric is folded in half, so it only needs to be half as long. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now I meant to cut my fabric much wider so that I could fold the width in half to make up for my sloppy cutting job. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmwOQzJIPQnIvw-BkgOLqCPWeHDYD_t-Kq5hEMDSbOk6a8eCb6sGEUTIXtzSbRiKl_PN6QiEcTUnKZiI7GKyHWw_4SkCBw9eYThAk6xN_XOokebinniMoq7G9InPtbAcHDlgY_WVztulg/s1600/IMG_0069.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmwOQzJIPQnIvw-BkgOLqCPWeHDYD_t-Kq5hEMDSbOk6a8eCb6sGEUTIXtzSbRiKl_PN6QiEcTUnKZiI7GKyHWw_4SkCBw9eYThAk6xN_XOokebinniMoq7G9InPtbAcHDlgY_WVztulg/s320/IMG_0069.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3: Cut off about an inch of the fabric on either side. Or if you like the size of your bow already, you can just cut off an inch of fabric from the original lace fabric.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB6p5EuIAkG2dDqRffmK0iGZrWFENxU_CgBwe5Mr2LdzjqgioNnNYPYmewSIRDuuZ-zsEoECxv8-GAQBH4goA-jCAzEUKVFWNP5AiWXxEmoyClRR_RHtga6VCM9LtzTQRhjdEXHJ8_VfY/s1600/IMG_0070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgB6p5EuIAkG2dDqRffmK0iGZrWFENxU_CgBwe5Mr2LdzjqgioNnNYPYmewSIRDuuZ-zsEoECxv8-GAQBH4goA-jCAzEUKVFWNP5AiWXxEmoyClRR_RHtga6VCM9LtzTQRhjdEXHJ8_VfY/s320/IMG_0070.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here's what I was working with. Luckily, because it's lace it doesn't end up looking as messy as the purely cut fabric once you put it all together. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfRK_XvsbyrVVWkecGpMEIyYJP5gJv7C8qd5Rgje4qU5uDX4NKkAUTPAuDbQ2tpa4V_Y9jhPTBTTBOiczv9P4s180bAXZtyxs2qhqAS2vPAkwg0Ssuna8lk7ZvCRmGLumVHtEAuqfx4zw/s1600/IMG_0074.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfRK_XvsbyrVVWkecGpMEIyYJP5gJv7C8qd5Rgje4qU5uDX4NKkAUTPAuDbQ2tpa4V_Y9jhPTBTTBOiczv9P4s180bAXZtyxs2qhqAS2vPAkwg0Ssuna8lk7ZvCRmGLumVHtEAuqfx4zw/s320/IMG_0074.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 4: Take the hot glue gun and put a line of hot glue down the middle of the bow where you will cinch it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 5: Cinch the lace where the hot glue is.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnM3vW8T2K8VIEv1wNHXr3roP_y4pNGIbtuMUyh-4PiLJthKHXhbvJBEH_Zkc3a8IYphadWgF1uHcz88KB5XugUUDFAW1Ta1schaf_6AqVGtEAorkufF-uKHQ8-kYYBxSVdtKrHn355d4/s1600/IMG_0076.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnM3vW8T2K8VIEv1wNHXr3roP_y4pNGIbtuMUyh-4PiLJthKHXhbvJBEH_Zkc3a8IYphadWgF1uHcz88KB5XugUUDFAW1Ta1schaf_6AqVGtEAorkufF-uKHQ8-kYYBxSVdtKrHn355d4/s320/IMG_0076.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 6: Put a dot of hot glue on the cinched area and then take one of the inch wide, long pieces of lace and press one end of it on the dot of hot glue. Then wrap the long piece of lace around the cinched area until you run out of fabric. You can put another dot of hot glue to keep the wrapping fabric in place.</div>

<br />
Hey guys!<br />
<br />
Unfortunately, I don't have a craft to share with you today, but I do have some news!<br />
<br />
This summer I will be going on a missions trip with my church to the Philippines! There we will be working at the Young Life Center in Cebu where we will be serving the people there by doing some construction work!<br />
<br />
To get me there, however, I'm going to need your help and support!<br />
<br />
Here's how you can help:<br />
1) Prayer- Please keep my team in prayer before, during and after our trip! That we'd be able to raise enough money, stay safe while in the Philippines, serve with our whole hearts, and then have a smooth transition coming back.<br />
<br />
2) Financially- The trip cost a lot of money ($2,600 is a lot for a jobless teenager!) and I could really use your support! By donating <a href="http://www.ministrysync.com/event/website/?m=1256341" target="_blank">here</a> you can get me one step closer to my goal! It doesn't need to be a lot- any amount will help more than you'll ever know!<br />
<br />
Thank you so much for reading this, and hopefully I'll have a craft up here for you guys soon! I've got a project I'm working on right now, but it's taking longer than I though it would.<br />
<br />
God bless and thanks for considering supporting me on this new and exciting adventure!<br />

Tutorial</h2>

<div>
Hey guys! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So today's tutorial is inspired by two pins that I found on <a href="http://pinterest.com/hahaitsmicayla/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a> (like every other tutorial.. haha!). The first <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/250512797994314133/" target="_blank">pin</a> is making a dessert platter out of a plate and a cup, and the second is an Anthropologie knockoff of their <a href="http://www.radicalpossibility.com/2012/06/easy-confetti-tumblers.html" target="_blank">confetti tumblers</a>. I didn't mean to put the two crafts together, but it ended up working really well together! I love this one- it might even be my favorite craft so far!</div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 1: After washing the two dishes, apply the super glue or cement to the rim of the glass.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: Press the glass onto the center of the bottom of the plate. </div>
<div>
Make sure that the glass is in the center of the plate. If it's off center you can adjust it, but then some of the glue is on the inside and isn't touched by outside air, and that makes it not dry clear.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now this was my project after 12 hours. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Not sure if you can see clearly, but all the glue on the outside of the rim of the glass dried clear, but the glue on the inside of the glass isn't dried very well.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I figured that it wasn't going to dry anytime soon and I'm a bit of an impatient person with somethings, so I decided to find an alternative method to hide the undried glue.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hey guys!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So this tutorial is inspired by yet another pin that I found on <a href="http://pinterest.com/hahaitsmicayla/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a>. I've done knitted headbands before, like my <a href="http://howdyoumakethatblog.blogspot.com/2013/01/diy-knitted-cinched-headband.html" target="_blank">Cinched Headband</a>, and I've done <a href="http://howdyoumakethatblog.blogspot.com/2013/01/knitted-bow.html" target="_blank">Knitted Bows</a> before, but this one is a combination of the two. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is a skinnier headband than I've done before. The band is actually about half the width of the bow, but I like it a lot! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here are the supplies you'll need:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Then follow my <a href="http://howdyoumakethatblog.blogspot.com/2013/01/knitted-bow.html" target="_blank">Knitted Bow Tutorial</a> for instructions on the bow portion of the headband.</div>

<div>
<br />
Step 5: You should then collect the following items: A completed bow, a plain headband and some leftover string.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Use the leftover string to tie the bow and the headband together. I would recommend putting the cinched part of the bow over the sewn together part of the headband in order to disguise the sewing job. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Once you've tied the knot, wrap the leftover string around the headband and cinched bow several times to keep the two together and to cinch the headband a little as well.</div>

<br />
Hey guys!<br />
<br />
First of all, I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me hit over 1,000 page views! It's a huge milestone for me and it really meant a lot. So keep coming back so I can hit 2,000!<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Craft Inspiration</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
So this project was inspired by this <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/26247610299865415/" target="_blank">pin</a> that I found on <a href="http://pinterest.com/hahaitsmicayla/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a>. I've already done the normal rainbow dripping crayons project and I felt like the chevron pattern would be a cool project to do next.<br />
<br />
I decided (partially because of my smaller canvas) to make my pattern thicker and use less colors.<br />
<br />
I read the <a href="http://leslielovesmakeup.blogspot.com/2012/05/chevron-art-using-melted-crayons.html" target="_blank">blog</a> that did the tutorial for this project but there weren't step by step instructions and also, she used the 'crayons-in-the-hot-glue-gun' method while I chose the hairdryer method.<br />
<br />
I've never used the hot glue gun for anything more than gluing things down but I imagine that putting crayons through the gun leaves it a little messy, so I chose a different (and hopefully neater) path.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjReyRTKFOPZ7VZSWAbNcJxF5YfDQaulQaWTohCUrT-wZjxkrlPm-bKDB6Ujln2YaGaBibs4DfkmXDzrtc-gSB7OvxDMMkonvUdSJygGbPZ82NXMaoZ4rF1XQSnr0jFVqFyd7Qqz6wz7fQ/s1600/supplies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjReyRTKFOPZ7VZSWAbNcJxF5YfDQaulQaWTohCUrT-wZjxkrlPm-bKDB6Ujln2YaGaBibs4DfkmXDzrtc-gSB7OvxDMMkonvUdSJygGbPZ82NXMaoZ4rF1XQSnr0jFVqFyd7Qqz6wz7fQ/s1600/supplies.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
Here are the supplies you'll need:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Canvas</li>
<li>Crayons (Only about 5 or 6)</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Tape (I wouldn't recommend duct tape)</li>
<li>Hairdryer</li>
<li>Ruler</li>
<li>Newspaper</li>
<li>White paint (For covering mistakes. Optional.)</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikwm3-0aTCcO1nEOoiEAnaXT_Qy5edM5ij39Jhgbspu29xXeDGLuYzrkaXc_cTz8rmU4qbNWg8nx7fZNcS3zRREMXSRbL4MjHZz8aN8W3iEPEprKOu5WXl8VffFKkHcSROuJsdLgcVUqE/s1600/choose+colors.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikwm3-0aTCcO1nEOoiEAnaXT_Qy5edM5ij39Jhgbspu29xXeDGLuYzrkaXc_cTz8rmU4qbNWg8nx7fZNcS3zRREMXSRbL4MjHZz8aN8W3iEPEprKOu5WXl8VffFKkHcSROuJsdLgcVUqE/s1600/choose+colors.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
Step 1: Choose your colors.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I picked out 6 colors but only ended up needing to use 5. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
How many colors you end up using all depends on the thickness of your chevron pattern and the length of your canvas.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You can use the ruler to measure out how thick you want each chevron to be and then see how many crayons you'll need.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiUDHtNwH0vHA4_a96Gz8whPlLU5o87S2bfk3_QCwNPbV9j8xgIsSVVaKupKg8ZRmFu9G51eaI6mSsv9deFIRckROfkYfQy27bIpyVoMygYFEB-hKnlA7yqCXrVRY2_CkHCOEaTTebyAo/s1600/peel+crayons.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiUDHtNwH0vHA4_a96Gz8whPlLU5o87S2bfk3_QCwNPbV9j8xgIsSVVaKupKg8ZRmFu9G51eaI6mSsv9deFIRckROfkYfQy27bIpyVoMygYFEB-hKnlA7yqCXrVRY2_CkHCOEaTTebyAo/s1600/peel+crayons.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: Peel the crayons.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje8J8dPKrwh16hkQfeRAOdXAL2sD8uUIEpaQZwNh_-c7NYlhu8RrXCT_H8T4IjGlRR7qGRx73AviSg2hAiHh7jNnd-Jn0T7XpdTulOxjIFVzG9E_VnKf-IadR6dNn6cOivqdtlzEKIvHQ/s1600/make+zig+zag+with+tape.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje8J8dPKrwh16hkQfeRAOdXAL2sD8uUIEpaQZwNh_-c7NYlhu8RrXCT_H8T4IjGlRR7qGRx73AviSg2hAiHh7jNnd-Jn0T7XpdTulOxjIFVzG9E_VnKf-IadR6dNn6cOivqdtlzEKIvHQ/s1600/make+zig+zag+with+tape.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3: Make the tape into a zig zag formations, and then make an exact replica. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now, I used duct tape, but it wasn't the best choice of tape. It stuck to the canvas, but a little too well once I turned on the hairdryer. There were bits of residue from the duct tape once I tore it off, but luckily it got covered by the dripping crayons.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3vNm7nRKJ2JpXxiR7HqC4XoDzbDm4L12AvFYxy1ufZC19zbwvd3ykt7zGRRtlfkiEyz0omRK-wRestn2oKnegWLVM97qI-EhNENJ5V2zQoshWO9R3oD0ru7KMN6wUffN6dsCNuZEBnfs/s1600/use+hair+dryer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3vNm7nRKJ2JpXxiR7HqC4XoDzbDm4L12AvFYxy1ufZC19zbwvd3ykt7zGRRtlfkiEyz0omRK-wRestn2oKnegWLVM97qI-EhNENJ5V2zQoshWO9R3oD0ru7KMN6wUffN6dsCNuZEBnfs/s1600/use+hair+dryer.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 4: Use the hairdryer to melt the crayons.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
What I realized works best is holding the hairdryer parallel to the canvas so that the hot air blows down, parallel to the canvas. If you just blow the hot hair straight on (perpendicular) to the crayon, then it sprays out crazy and doesn't drip nicely. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The problem with the hairdryer method is that the melted crayons are really unpredictable. They sometimes spray all over the place and can be super frustrating, but eventually you'll get the technique down.</div>
<div>
If not, don't worry, I have a cheating solution that I used. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixLZJE_GYDQymU989enmbzdIy1LGLUc7Q0lItMIEK7UmwhkdPRv2TsFOIPtboNBbIOnVu5mM1sYGE3frZBjoO795gXWdMm1wW-PbtivUne9LJCzdy2ey-tQ22goxEk2OEyiZhaUCM9i2c/s1600/close+up+hairdryer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixLZJE_GYDQymU989enmbzdIy1LGLUc7Q0lItMIEK7UmwhkdPRv2TsFOIPtboNBbIOnVu5mM1sYGE3frZBjoO795gXWdMm1wW-PbtivUne9LJCzdy2ey-tQ22goxEk2OEyiZhaUCM9i2c/s1600/close+up+hairdryer.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
Here's a close up of the crayon/hairdryer. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
What I would recommend doing to make the chevron pattern look better, is tracing the outline of the tape with the half melted crayon. That way there is a bold chevron pattern, and then crayons melting down.</div>
<div>
I felt like that little step would make my project look better, but it's up to the individual artist.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
**Note: Save the leftover crayons- you may need them later.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijXP1dg89oKoVfe0mKjDxnVcG4y1fkUbgsbmdQyUUyRAl0OcqiznYgSeqQbnBGII-SMkkmH7x-Yxdi76_we4eNzdKP7zxVR6v0qmUHEVfRUWq2u9ePpZwBZZNBM21eHqhhzLThK0z7i_U/s1600/move+tape+up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijXP1dg89oKoVfe0mKjDxnVcG4y1fkUbgsbmdQyUUyRAl0OcqiznYgSeqQbnBGII-SMkkmH7x-Yxdi76_we4eNzdKP7zxVR6v0qmUHEVfRUWq2u9ePpZwBZZNBM21eHqhhzLThK0z7i_U/s1600/move+tape+up.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 5: Move the tape up.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now here is when it starts to get a little messy and frustrating.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's at this step where you realize that it doesn't look as good as you thought or where the tape sticks or where you see the crayons spattering in unwanted areas but IT'S OKAY. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Like I said earlier, I found a way to (kinda) fix the mistakes. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhypNseBpAreJyPfLdyuAPMWV5yH_BWdo7YKXLc_Lg7cR4iFZLfVSOkjMIrF6MPD43UxXitehv3m5s53-HpXpqOu8VEF00IQqSVA4pZSllPxKrTl5yKMYszW3hA5dJLmi2T7EcTNijIu_g/s1600/after+a+couple+of+colors.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhypNseBpAreJyPfLdyuAPMWV5yH_BWdo7YKXLc_Lg7cR4iFZLfVSOkjMIrF6MPD43UxXitehv3m5s53-HpXpqOu8VEF00IQqSVA4pZSllPxKrTl5yKMYszW3hA5dJLmi2T7EcTNijIu_g/s1600/after+a+couple+of+colors.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 6: Repeat the process for each chevron.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now I realized halfway through that you need to cover the already melted crayons in newspaper or something because the other colors will sometimes mix together. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
What I did was cut a big piece of newspaper and tape it onto the canvas to hide the finished part of the project. But in order to let the top parts drip correctly, you need the full "V" so I taped the big square at the trough (or lowest point) of each zig zag and then took smaller pieces and taped them on the peaks (or highest parts) in order to cover everything but also leave the full shape.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is why I had you make two of the same chevron patters- to stop the crayons from dripping down.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj02Db6Ac2_phG-6TSq-G5wuUoZlbs2Dttg2LzLu4neBo0zl_RWOj4I7Ml6x8daiakao9xcITZHA-fYxR9yJ0FJFAaPbgAyX4lRQsYQzoZBxCpAVyR0xWanz4RWm1Mra_tsVXe1sliZXBE/s1600/first+round+finished.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj02Db6Ac2_phG-6TSq-G5wuUoZlbs2Dttg2LzLu4neBo0zl_RWOj4I7Ml6x8daiakao9xcITZHA-fYxR9yJ0FJFAaPbgAyX4lRQsYQzoZBxCpAVyR0xWanz4RWm1Mra_tsVXe1sliZXBE/s1600/first+round+finished.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Okay, this WAS my final product before I cheated and fixed my project up a little.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To fix my mistakes I first took out a butter knife and tried to chip away at some of the dried crayons to make it look better. Then, after not much was changing, I took out some white paint and began painting over my mistakes. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This worked surprisingly well, just make sure to paint a layer...then wait...and then paint another layer. You definitely need multiple layers and if you're impatient like me, you need to remind yourself to wait and let the first coat dry before painting on another coat.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Tutorial</h2>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlp3vfP9fUV1YWBNyKzVAEz5g27odgVt0Es3nAfLsSbHW9fGwQnA4fEIS2DilRhVJYvHq7ClI5e0AjCEjAX-rztwlMWUZTRaQeHG-FuOcmpBKgAGMWHCPKdmQsawwyVIlIrTbeEFRxs_k/s1600/Photo+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlp3vfP9fUV1YWBNyKzVAEz5g27odgVt0Es3nAfLsSbHW9fGwQnA4fEIS2DilRhVJYvHq7ClI5e0AjCEjAX-rztwlMWUZTRaQeHG-FuOcmpBKgAGMWHCPKdmQsawwyVIlIrTbeEFRxs_k/s320/Photo+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hey guys! So I found t<span style="text-align: center;">his </span><a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/250512797994530647/" style="text-align: center;" target="_blank">pin</a> on <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/hahaitsmicayla" target="_blank">Pinterest</a> of how to knit a scarf on your arm and I thought it was so cute and seemed easy to do! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I tried to follow the video featured on the blog linked to the pin, but I didn't find her video to be very helpful when it came to technique, so I searched for a better video and found this one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/CxJXoqCXOP4?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I however didn't have extremely chunky yarn so I had to modify the tutorial.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's what you'll need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Yarn</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Arms</li>
</ul>
<div>
So if your yarn is chunky, you can cast on 5 or so stitches like the video does, but if you're like me and only have thin yarn on hand, I casted on about 12-15 stitches to make it as wide as a normal scarf. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd5O2x3jB764hwRxB6lwGMKy3_LeessQqcPLaR9pFpBCKZhPbyaDRyYqrJVNuastau4EDwYZQHyJ7N1Ba9BmWOoyBbFJlxvNaNs6GzsSnuouNSlHe3NDn9TXZwkCwnqwP3xCR9kVjp17Y/s1600/Photo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd5O2x3jB764hwRxB6lwGMKy3_LeessQqcPLaR9pFpBCKZhPbyaDRyYqrJVNuastau4EDwYZQHyJ7N1Ba9BmWOoyBbFJlxvNaNs6GzsSnuouNSlHe3NDn9TXZwkCwnqwP3xCR9kVjp17Y/s320/Photo+2.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
Step 1) Cast on (see video)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2) Knit! (see video)<br />
<br />
This is what it begins to look like.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Because the yarn was so thin and I was making an infinity scarf, I made it long enough to wrap around my neck three times to make it look more bulky. </div>
<div>
If your yarn is thicker, you can knit a shorter scarf.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3) Cast off (see video)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 4) To tie the ends together and make it an infinity scarf, I literally just tied four knots along the ends. Once I put on the scarf I make sure that the knots are in the back so no one can see. If you want to connect the scarf the right way, you can see the video below starting at around 9:13.</div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/eClB0RpGBlo?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I plan on doing another one of these and doing it with thicker yarn, so hopefully it'll turn out even better!<br />
<br />
Happy crafting,<br />

<br /></div>
Hey guys!<br />
<br />
So one of my first pins on <a href="http://pinterest.com/hahaitsmicayla/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a> was some of those hex nut crafts where you braid the hex nuts into the fabric and then wear it as a bracelet or a necklace. On a random trip to OSH I bought some hex nuts but never got around to making it back then, so I decided to finish it this afternoon!<br />
<br />
I was searching for a tutorial online because braiding the hex nuts into a bracelet proved harder than I though it'd be, but I couldn't find any so I made my own variation of the craft that's MUCH easier.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjowoi5eQ9jNPAVc0L8zmnbHBeLQ6KCFFp1rso8pSO6E6d2Yx7Ahk2E0it7thS4VQMbKROM0knfK_8QuAqSjIfpHQeYc6xZpHyoZUff5tbSokThzgBHXlCBFBZ_F0Jua_BmSW2GxwuIJBU/s1600/Photo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="209" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjowoi5eQ9jNPAVc0L8zmnbHBeLQ6KCFFp1rso8pSO6E6d2Yx7Ahk2E0it7thS4VQMbKROM0knfK_8QuAqSjIfpHQeYc6xZpHyoZUff5tbSokThzgBHXlCBFBZ_F0Jua_BmSW2GxwuIJBU/s320/Photo+2.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
Here's the supplies you'll need:<br />
<ul>
<li>Hex nuts (Quantity depends on what you want to make. I made a bracelet and used 14.)</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Ribbon or yarn - a LOT of it. I used about 10 feet of yarn cut up into three sections. </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Scissors</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBPWSla6ZRp2YHYqqA4ACLQ45AnK5DzY4NR0vVx8xbG_L10nPKD5CASCpfRUZ__v5LEAb0m84ohI66q4XI4GcWEsvCr3yxCmReH-zgs3u8RLMOuQm7_7cYEkoLuFmOUkfRT-WI16BaUTk/s1600/Photo+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBPWSla6ZRp2YHYqqA4ACLQ45AnK5DzY4NR0vVx8xbG_L10nPKD5CASCpfRUZ__v5LEAb0m84ohI66q4XI4GcWEsvCr3yxCmReH-zgs3u8RLMOuQm7_7cYEkoLuFmOUkfRT-WI16BaUTk/s320/Photo+1.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
Step 1: Take your 10 ft long string of yarn or ribbon and cut into three equal sections.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: Tie a knot connecting the three strands of ribbon or yarn. I had to tie my yarn 2-3 times, putting each knot over the last, to make sure that the hex nut wouldn't slide over it and my ribbon only once. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3: Slide on a hex nut.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHsbR_t8gspAwAE_BXfG9Z9rFbIxH-AU1tH3NbTN7BSlB67Cy4huH3rO3qMWGC5hTCJAJlv_SOEYvzjhmif2LlLptZjMcH3AJrj-KNdIeOV4ToNf07qK4BsZCNg-7y9pvc0JYtjj49bdE/s1600/Photo+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="188" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHsbR_t8gspAwAE_BXfG9Z9rFbIxH-AU1tH3NbTN7BSlB67Cy4huH3rO3qMWGC5hTCJAJlv_SOEYvzjhmif2LlLptZjMcH3AJrj-KNdIeOV4ToNf07qK4BsZCNg-7y9pvc0JYtjj49bdE/s320/Photo+4.jpg" width="320" /></a>Step 4: Tie 2-3 knots on top of each other for yarn or only once for ribbon to hold hex nut in place.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 5: Repeat this step until all of your hex nuts are tied securely onto the ribbon or yarn.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
Step 6: Tie ends together to make bracelet (or necklace).</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And you're finished!</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkYhibH7oPeLFv3Y7OjTzFFQt-v0x7MW_Bhxn7n8L__hsGh-ZcEpLlqwg-nvspXG0rlZfo4G990zqZUbRsxrths8v5HzAyrZ3Tb5P0o2AChgCB7074acMd3wO8_0wwgTfCBndoBCwRJ10/s1600/Photo+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkYhibH7oPeLFv3Y7OjTzFFQt-v0x7MW_Bhxn7n8L__hsGh-ZcEpLlqwg-nvspXG0rlZfo4G990zqZUbRsxrths8v5HzAyrZ3Tb5P0o2AChgCB7074acMd3wO8_0wwgTfCBndoBCwRJ10/s320/Photo+5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! It's a lot easier than the braided hex nut crafts but still gives the same effect.</div>

<br /></div>
Hey guys!<br />
<br />
So, like any high school senior, college is the number one thing on my mind currently. But since I'm obsessed with room makeovers and <a href="http://pinterest.com/hahaitsmicayla/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a>, my future dorm room is also a often thought about topic. When planning the color scheme of my dorm room, coral immediately came to mind, but I had no idea what would go with it... until I pulled out my yarn.<br />
<br />
I found that I liked the color combination of coral, white, grey, yellow and navy blue, so I decided to make a throw pillow that will hopefully be sitting on my new bed next year!<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUPCwH3sMlLrr7IzTNHQUoIqyzWu663LehJiR60StAuhMM_x8A0PGxHK0uEpEWPPkdTU7uNGa83eKTFEkOzunBZ2j8rE5frd4654m-ZPKGp-7IQAoIB5gW8Lt2TgmkHF17Z7tztG_rOvI/s1600/118149190196105669_yH7mxh12_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUPCwH3sMlLrr7IzTNHQUoIqyzWu663LehJiR60StAuhMM_x8A0PGxHK0uEpEWPPkdTU7uNGa83eKTFEkOzunBZ2j8rE5frd4654m-ZPKGp-7IQAoIB5gW8Lt2TgmkHF17Z7tztG_rOvI/s200/118149190196105669_yH7mxh12_c.jpg" width="200" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Craft Inspiration</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
I got my inspiration from this <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/250512797994405614/" target="_blank">pin</a> on Pinterest, and decided to model my second pillow after it!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Here are the supplies you'll need:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Yarn (colors of your choosing, however I would recommend you to also have white yarn for the back.</li>
<li>Knitting needles</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Embroidery needle</li>
<li>Pillow stuffing (once again, I just cut open an ugly pillow I got for cheap)</li>
</ul>
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVS6DHfqNLe9FGmKarfURyFZQxtJwtNj_YhX_THfR155Z_1DTyUJtU8gZDTtmghkrbFHPMD6HAbbMAgTevOsnlwJYq0C8rPGfqMQLgPTI35Ol_UQrP4SIRKgWGSjLNqhrhoOGUcUQBTbk/s1600/IMG_8817.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVS6DHfqNLe9FGmKarfURyFZQxtJwtNj_YhX_THfR155Z_1DTyUJtU8gZDTtmghkrbFHPMD6HAbbMAgTevOsnlwJYq0C8rPGfqMQLgPTI35Ol_UQrP4SIRKgWGSjLNqhrhoOGUcUQBTbk/s320/IMG_8817.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
Step 1: Knit squares- lots of them. For this I casted on 8 stitches for each one and then knitted until it formed a square. For my project I made 9 squares in each color and then knitted a few extras to make the full rectangle but you can vary that based on the size of the pillow you want to make.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 2: Lay out all of your squares in your final formation.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1XJHbMa0mwtbi3mDl_lclt2OKYOdFURtDzn4q4Pr0mfPUMxykD7dF5obGIevSzZfAJDF2njknhGe4XPLLk2FQMuc-t6Rq2qrjFEjV4H0w0dCeU-CLb8wWzgmktTNB_FUwvNJ1aZ-vEhE/s1600/IMG_8852.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1XJHbMa0mwtbi3mDl_lclt2OKYOdFURtDzn4q4Pr0mfPUMxykD7dF5obGIevSzZfAJDF2njknhGe4XPLLk2FQMuc-t6Rq2qrjFEjV4H0w0dCeU-CLb8wWzgmktTNB_FUwvNJ1aZ-vEhE/s320/IMG_8852.jpg" style="cursor: move;" width="320" /></a></div>
Step 3: Use the embroidery needle to sew all of the squares together. I found it easiest to just start in one corner and add on from there. In order to make the squares come together well and not look too messy, overlap one square over the other and use the same colored yarn as the top square to sew them together. That way you can't see the sewing because the sewing yarn and the knitted yarn are the same color.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdiQXrow6QKEs8k1NF5JQL8mL3xAZa3ZNu-QHbPwwjw0ULH_WiC4bo5LXbusp-WaIqMJjbEIA5ABL9ypWN3BX1cb4B7vJE37c_K3ZzRn_DJ3CTfm_MkFXSzpge86t22zf-tzxpr2mFtv0/s1600/IMG_8946.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdiQXrow6QKEs8k1NF5JQL8mL3xAZa3ZNu-QHbPwwjw0ULH_WiC4bo5LXbusp-WaIqMJjbEIA5ABL9ypWN3BX1cb4B7vJE37c_K3ZzRn_DJ3CTfm_MkFXSzpge86t22zf-tzxpr2mFtv0/s320/IMG_8946.jpg" width="320" /></a><span style="text-align: center;">Step 4: Knit the back. I would do this step after the squares because then you can see exactly how large your pillow will be once the squares are all sewed together. For my back, I casted on 60 stitches and then kept knitting and measuring and knitting and then measuring until the back of the pillow cover the front. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
Step 5: Sew together the front and back using the embroidery needle. I found this fancy new way to sew together two knitted things and making it look nicer! You can check out the tutorial <a href="http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/home/knitting-instructions12.htm" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />

Tutorial</h2>
<br />
Hey guys!<br />
<br />
This was one of my first projects I ever did, and one of my favorites! It's great for winter, really cute and super easy to make!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitXCyAGw955Fi9j8gjRy68IOKKBxRSQXwORwG9Ydz6RgdQbHHIh7gxcqrZFabeeHpoo3kcRu8EY9n_h7WR13pNi0xp76QVXDSI7hG6M94LZZxd-vKxnUvgWepj8ZwXpd9xQ9alWlFCdjw/s1600/422993_3101839187099_1374699167_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitXCyAGw955Fi9j8gjRy68IOKKBxRSQXwORwG9Ydz6RgdQbHHIh7gxcqrZFabeeHpoo3kcRu8EY9n_h7WR13pNi0xp76QVXDSI7hG6M94LZZxd-vKxnUvgWepj8ZwXpd9xQ9alWlFCdjw/s320/422993_3101839187099_1374699167_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are the supplies you'll need:</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Yarn</li>
<li>Knitting needles</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
<li>Embroidery needle</li>
</ul>
<div>
Step 1: Cast on about 12-15 stitches with the yarn of your choice.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: Knit until you've made a rectangle that will stretch to the size of your head.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3: End your knitted piece and sew together using an embroidery needle.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilJdCZ9MLv4sS931sqvysgdGok7efIrNC4tjHWZBvGyJ0_TmoIHaf1FR_xYw_ziNlfSCrA5XMurIQmUD94oysvov0LRWvU760_eCBMKQsmT-lsOOkqlvFwzwCnKPFSUUddBklJ1Q70a50/s1600/2.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilJdCZ9MLv4sS931sqvysgdGok7efIrNC4tjHWZBvGyJ0_TmoIHaf1FR_xYw_ziNlfSCrA5XMurIQmUD94oysvov0LRWvU760_eCBMKQsmT-lsOOkqlvFwzwCnKPFSUUddBklJ1Q70a50/s1600/2.png" /></a><br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
Step 4: Pinch the sewed area of the headband to make the cinched area. (same technique as the <a href="http://howdyoumakethatblog.blogspot.com/2013/01/knitted-bow.html" target="_blank">Knitted Bow Tutorial</a>)</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 5: Tie a knot around the cinched area.<br />
<br />
Step 6: Wrap the area repeatedly. I usually stop once the cinched area is 2-3 inches long.<br />
<br />
Step 7: Tie a knot in the back to finish off the headband and you're done!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt5Mcssj_B3EjQhSJLlS4n3_-ygbaGi807d-0sIx_aETPUHGOhv089HenHzjdl4fUlUDs6XSEo9uez_Mcs5eMQ0O1E9YBgPv2Dy6StBKYe6igRhm_-JgmWE6cEZLAfyF2vC7nASGRu7eE/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt5Mcssj_B3EjQhSJLlS4n3_-ygbaGi807d-0sIx_aETPUHGOhv089HenHzjdl4fUlUDs6XSEo9uez_Mcs5eMQ0O1E9YBgPv2Dy6StBKYe6igRhm_-JgmWE6cEZLAfyF2vC7nASGRu7eE/s320/photo.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you enjoyed this craft and your day off from school/work today! </div>

Tutorial</h2>
<br />
Hey guys!<br />
<br />
This craft was prompted by my good friend, Alexia's, birthday! It was her birthday present, and I'm really proud of how it turned out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIlRhaTHR5HSxdzy9XX1pYyNr95SBtBfFCQ8Y0-c12lfnciSl9IonZ6ZT6V1op_D7CuJy49nFcOFhXsfnkWagE7PzqSEfNiV9inI8ycboawjjLlm6XUrkGwPmSlAxlX-vUIH3w0PtoF2E/s1600/bow+mug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIlRhaTHR5HSxdzy9XX1pYyNr95SBtBfFCQ8Y0-c12lfnciSl9IonZ6ZT6V1op_D7CuJy49nFcOFhXsfnkWagE7PzqSEfNiV9inI8ycboawjjLlm6XUrkGwPmSlAxlX-vUIH3w0PtoF2E/s320/bow+mug.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPqlPcVGCtyG_RCxxus-bJ-ypmTD84OjFhIMHfDuOa_IKq5x4mJFW4c8lYGFDqlS-ziKH4CslXdYwUYAjaimGkjFA67er-LPChc8gPIa1bI82B_NcOZo5nIU06KmGsoxgLmAYjvNjrfCg/s1600/flower+mug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPqlPcVGCtyG_RCxxus-bJ-ypmTD84OjFhIMHfDuOa_IKq5x4mJFW4c8lYGFDqlS-ziKH4CslXdYwUYAjaimGkjFA67er-LPChc8gPIa1bI82B_NcOZo5nIU06KmGsoxgLmAYjvNjrfCg/s320/flower+mug.jpg" width="240" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Here are the supplies you'll need:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Yarn</li>
<li>Knitting needles</li>
<li>(optional) To make the flower I used this flower-making loom that my Aunt Sherrill gave me for Christmas! I'm sure it's available at any Michaels or similar store with craft supplies.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
(Sorry for the lack of pictures, I was in a hurry to make these in time!)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 1: Cast on 20 stitches.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: Knit a rectangle until it fits around the mug you're making the sleeve for. Make it so that the two ends of the rectangle meet when pulled out because if it's too loose, it won't stay up on the coffee mug. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3: Add on the attached decoration (bow, flower, or your own creation!) by "sewing" on the decoration with yarn of the corresponding color. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<div>
<br />
<br />
As for the flower, you can buy the loom and it comes with instructions of how to make the flower.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
Well that was probably my 2nd simplest craft I've posted, so I hope you enjoy it! Let me know how yours turns out or if you have any questions.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Happy crafting!</div>

<br />
<br />
Hey guys!<br />
<br />
So this DIY project is inspired by the necklace I saw that Kylie Jenner posted on her Instagram account a while ago. I loved the necklace and thought it would be fairly easy to recreate, so I did!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: right;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are the supplies you'll need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi69RsnYNf12VIVpqBE993ccgNZGPXoKIQ97U4N5Fa7DhMpRkoihgRO7JOLxL79La5Yybjv2FJ44qM9N7b6Lgae-h77WpIcOc-KQL3qnY4uMhTeF-4gm1bC5vTqsVALheM20PKsSVkhJtI/s1600/supplies.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi69RsnYNf12VIVpqBE993ccgNZGPXoKIQ97U4N5Fa7DhMpRkoihgRO7JOLxL79La5Yybjv2FJ44qM9N7b6Lgae-h77WpIcOc-KQL3qnY4uMhTeF-4gm1bC5vTqsVALheM20PKsSVkhJtI/s320/supplies.JPG" width="250" /></a></div>
<ul>
<li>6 sets of charms (I got them at Michaels, sorry it doesn't have a specific name! And you can buy more or less in order to fit the style you want)</li>
<li>Necklace clasps (I got a combination of screw on ones and clip on ones- whichever you prefer)</li>
<li>Jump rings (Only if you use the clip kind of necklace clasps)</li>
<li>Beading wire</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 1: Measure your wire. I made mine 5-7 inches too long so that I could tie them easily and then I cut off the rest that I didn't need.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrzueg9rRR5W5Q0y9TPCUXThOkCIBF1N9WnXZnEo2Cnbbkc2Qn-UP-ugKCpnIXDQYwKzLIM-TI8Z5ZIH-yH0jmIVx0uocjdfAPh-6tmp3kiYWBswZMI9fPxzcub0gJLQtK6kYPDfoPcXg/s1600/step+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="211" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrzueg9rRR5W5Q0y9TPCUXThOkCIBF1N9WnXZnEo2Cnbbkc2Qn-UP-ugKCpnIXDQYwKzLIM-TI8Z5ZIH-yH0jmIVx0uocjdfAPh-6tmp3kiYWBswZMI9fPxzcub0gJLQtK6kYPDfoPcXg/s320/step+2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: Begin to string the charms! This is where you get to decide what you want your necklace to look like. You can have them the way I placed them or you could vary them and make them random or string them by size- whatever you want!</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKckDs1AZkSfJ2zN9OeTsHg2M335GxuWtyR8_hE3pl6D4lpd4QIqVB_YzGQvzOoLSOm6PXF8H3G1N0RfHivwYYKiHqj9EpV2pS5312Ccaih0yjdvTgdGtdX7U79tnupUmx4ocG5INm5Fg/s1600/step+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKckDs1AZkSfJ2zN9OeTsHg2M335GxuWtyR8_hE3pl6D4lpd4QIqVB_YzGQvzOoLSOm6PXF8H3G1N0RfHivwYYKiHqj9EpV2pS5312Ccaih0yjdvTgdGtdX7U79tnupUmx4ocG5INm5Fg/s320/step+3.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is how mine looked at the end.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIhXOy8mVkwzJvE4WTTzEo1Ef8qK_13n9J5GNtLWN_2RvHsy6hduMAHy-3bQm4Pm3oAMnNXXwhEKJzwrJUR_qk3NnxnMFAAf-DQfRq7jB6y0uJCZAOOL8iGhfMgxsBb8flqb8yk4yNMDg/s1600/step+4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIhXOy8mVkwzJvE4WTTzEo1Ef8qK_13n9J5GNtLWN_2RvHsy6hduMAHy-3bQm4Pm3oAMnNXXwhEKJzwrJUR_qk3NnxnMFAAf-DQfRq7jB6y0uJCZAOOL8iGhfMgxsBb8flqb8yk4yNMDg/s320/step+4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<br />
Step 3: Tie on the clasps to either end of the beading string.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And there you go! You're finished.<br />
<br /></div>

<br />
Hey guys!<br />
<br />
So currently, my signature thing has been wearing these knitted bows! I saw Camilla on The X Factor from 5th Harmony rockin' bows every week and I realized how cute they were! However I'm kinda cheap (and broke) and decided to find a way to make them for a lot less money.<br />
<br />
I'm not that advanced at knitting so this is a SUPER simple project that any beginner knitter can do. Just as long as you know how to cast on, do the beginner's knitting pattern and then end it, you're skilled enough to make this!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7-tKSR01xCxj7UnlhVolLjDXE96CSTycf-e1_uI5Cpeyzs4H5cTrfAay_dcwjFOcAQ2UgnxkpVZDWwEYYym6qviq6Sra4wzqCo7Rqs7dgftB2QzHWtMZ3H8YhVpqQAEMOXiZuxkNJjBA/s1600/supplies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7-tKSR01xCxj7UnlhVolLjDXE96CSTycf-e1_uI5Cpeyzs4H5cTrfAay_dcwjFOcAQ2UgnxkpVZDWwEYYym6qviq6Sra4wzqCo7Rqs7dgftB2QzHWtMZ3H8YhVpqQAEMOXiZuxkNJjBA/s320/supplies.jpg" width="320" /></a>Here are the supplies you'll need:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Yarn</li>
<li>Knitting needles</li>
<li>Scissors</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 1: Cast on 15 stitches (or less if you want a smaller bow) with the yarn of your choice.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq9oMh-YBH-1zyDRMmczZeRQrDgOmnyO2Lp4S-ssamNREr9NLJeyYOb80bQ5hzjC8vHv7iurMZ7gyxuC8ipx0oIOT-XwvT7C-FTG76zvEeGpPqkPD_gOnBRN2GT9qMzs27vGkm9b-TBDU/s1600/step+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq9oMh-YBH-1zyDRMmczZeRQrDgOmnyO2Lp4S-ssamNREr9NLJeyYOb80bQ5hzjC8vHv7iurMZ7gyxuC8ipx0oIOT-XwvT7C-FTG76zvEeGpPqkPD_gOnBRN2GT9qMzs27vGkm9b-TBDU/s320/step+1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 2: Keep knitting until you've made a nice rectangle, and then close off the ends. You can test out how long you want it to be by pinching it in the center and seeing if you like the way your bow will look.<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUkCM77ati3ce2OCVbeLzYyAO5wq1nqEy7KVzy6qrNDYTs5Cd8GYKzbgcUAL720ms4vPpNxwOzLb3FsmnAvxpeOoJZLZCDDDcjIn-h7T1zSWUWncb-t4ocb6Rj8KWI5sbGZmeH9TDsUp4/s1600/1.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUkCM77ati3ce2OCVbeLzYyAO5wq1nqEy7KVzy6qrNDYTs5Cd8GYKzbgcUAL720ms4vPpNxwOzLb3FsmnAvxpeOoJZLZCDDDcjIn-h7T1zSWUWncb-t4ocb6Rj8KWI5sbGZmeH9TDsUp4/s320/1.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Step 3: Cinch. Start by pinching a small part at the top.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizgdD6HcgtYmoraAZ47TOm0-hQfHo299o_9ld5x-ExfT9jZMjIopKljJer7yLbO_D4LaqNgBmrPXDAUmgKqTk71xAHIa6GgJNzSl47QI3GAD1KtwXGwvpLWyhLhnWX0YudrVi_6Pr-ERI/s1600/2.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizgdD6HcgtYmoraAZ47TOm0-hQfHo299o_9ld5x-ExfT9jZMjIopKljJer7yLbO_D4LaqNgBmrPXDAUmgKqTk71xAHIa6GgJNzSl47QI3GAD1KtwXGwvpLWyhLhnWX0YudrVi_6Pr-ERI/s320/2.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
Step 4: Continue cinching the yarn down the rest of the bow. Pinch and hold.</div>
<div>
<br />
<span style="clear: left; color: black; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><br /></span>

<span style="clear: left; color: black; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><span style="clear: left; color: black; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><br /></span></span>

<span style="clear: left; color: black; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><span style="clear: left; color: black; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="clear: left; color: black; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><span style="clear: left; color: black; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="clear: left; color: black; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">Step 5: Tie a knot. Make sure the knot is in the back of the bow and leave a 3-5 inch strand of string hanging off one end and a long piece (the rest of the roll of yarn) hanging off the other end.</span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFQfPsv7HGzItbaoVikGAWY-fUrIsy8mICp_qsl3s84CDMS4IY-mOsmDVHx6q1LrH61CrQ1SzaZZVlONRDDIqYTlJTpL3vjnF3G2Vz9TdPOn6xwNkUZr8jARVVkkcT-2UvkIAdrd4SYmM/s1600/step+7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFQfPsv7HGzItbaoVikGAWY-fUrIsy8mICp_qsl3s84CDMS4IY-mOsmDVHx6q1LrH61CrQ1SzaZZVlONRDDIqYTlJTpL3vjnF3G2Vz9TdPOn6xwNkUZr8jARVVkkcT-2UvkIAdrd4SYmM/s320/step+7.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Step 6: Begin to wrap the rest of the yarn around the pinched/cinched part of the bow until you like the way it looks!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghXg-MJblhoG2olufqhLtVYiXOgN5NKPWV9kVjPTUrU80sPR1gEhEpwKgwZuYi3UAs6tdUVoDJF_aR6XX7HMCxE5TVH-8lQdivJN6mp_Z9HNZP_ci7jJCdElqObnKqx9TkB_5spRTFaY4/s1600/finished.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghXg-MJblhoG2olufqhLtVYiXOgN5NKPWV9kVjPTUrU80sPR1gEhEpwKgwZuYi3UAs6tdUVoDJF_aR6XX7HMCxE5TVH-8lQdivJN6mp_Z9HNZP_ci7jJCdElqObnKqx9TkB_5spRTFaY4/s320/finished.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 7: Tie a knot at the end to finish it off, and then cut off the extra yarn.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
And there you have it! You now have your very own knitted bow.<br />

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I spent the rest of my winter break out of town visiting one of my best friends, so I didn't get any crafting done. However we did make this awesome <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwMGyBt81fo&list=UUXLsXcs6du04q_AKaI3_7Uw&index=1" target="_blank">music video/cover</a> to a song! (That's my friend singing/on camera, and I did the directing and filming). You can also check out my channel <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/hahaitsmicayla?feature=mhee" target="_blank">here</a>. I make lots of music videos. :)<br />
<br />
ANYWAYS. When I got back on Sunday afternoon my fellow craft buddy, <a href="http://daretodiy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Bria</a>, made a new craft to share!<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWf9UGJcItitGE0agae-vg3CZjYM62oEbYbkqAdg_xBMu2t4EMl6O6OuU8ROrMcWHkSAd86vDzbFI7cTVHwQTtaASRyI5Uh09fdYWG_XqskQj3gZX3ToWZ6vtMJJIJaMMe4bKUc0BHhg/s1600/supplies.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkWf9UGJcItitGE0agae-vg3CZjYM62oEbYbkqAdg_xBMu2t4EMl6O6OuU8ROrMcWHkSAd86vDzbFI7cTVHwQTtaASRyI5Uh09fdYWG_XqskQj3gZX3ToWZ6vtMJJIJaMMe4bKUc0BHhg/s320/supplies.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
The supplies you need are:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>A hanger</li>
<li>String (or yarn)</li>
<li>Wire cutters</li>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDLq31AUzF-K8Ife-yokAHjpeJw_ggNl-E8TJ3keEPzaTscrweHukKxfmL8ZxaORN5mN1vlQy7HOvmWBCDe7uL-Jvz72UoNwpEwNsgPz7tryXjvX8LkopEPPzS8vuwcXM55IFz9MbMrE/s1600/step+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDLq31AUzF-K8Ife-yokAHjpeJw_ggNl-E8TJ3keEPzaTscrweHukKxfmL8ZxaORN5mN1vlQy7HOvmWBCDe7uL-Jvz72UoNwpEwNsgPz7tryXjvX8LkopEPPzS8vuwcXM55IFz9MbMrE/s1600/step+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggDLq31AUzF-K8Ife-yokAHjpeJw_ggNl-E8TJ3keEPzaTscrweHukKxfmL8ZxaORN5mN1vlQy7HOvmWBCDe7uL-Jvz72UoNwpEwNsgPz7tryXjvX8LkopEPPzS8vuwcXM55IFz9MbMrE/s320/step+1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 1: Unwrap the top part of the hanger.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFiA_bdf4gEROpndJe_-0LnvRqGEdMtcpyNBMAxF7nfLER6hHinsO0iuWof_jK98tH4uzwMNqZ5tvPFeFBaHnr_RM2Ki8KaIuJrSpcPDJWgn885giuQhF9gmB82wORJpJ8K7m6cR7v_jQ/s1600/step+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFiA_bdf4gEROpndJe_-0LnvRqGEdMtcpyNBMAxF7nfLER6hHinsO0iuWof_jK98tH4uzwMNqZ5tvPFeFBaHnr_RM2Ki8KaIuJrSpcPDJWgn885giuQhF9gmB82wORJpJ8K7m6cR7v_jQ/s320/step+2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<br />
(Optional) Step 2: Cut off the ends with the wire cutter.<br />
<br />
I found it was easiest to cut away at the outer plastic and to then bend the scrap wire up and down until it detached itself.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For me, it was easier to just cut off the ends instead of trying to make them straight. It's up to you if the extra length is important enough to you!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ5u3wnAEpJCQjHibGhjHuHu7krBPiZm0qMHqZ1Wnfz3LvncrLbicdVDS7At3eSmK1HKclexw4gzhmUGYKulZRyhSbVmDBqSP2HdhSFSEX5drFMgZIVMIXtK3ebR7419lCU5Mou753M_g/s1600/step+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="171" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ5u3wnAEpJCQjHibGhjHuHu7krBPiZm0qMHqZ1Wnfz3LvncrLbicdVDS7At3eSmK1HKclexw4gzhmUGYKulZRyhSbVmDBqSP2HdhSFSEX5drFMgZIVMIXtK3ebR7419lCU5Mou753M_g/s320/step+3.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
Step 3: Create your design. You could do one word, or two words (like I did), it's up to you. But choose something short due to the length of the wire and try to choose easy cursive words. Or if you don't want to do a word at all, you could always do a picture!<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
I chose "Te amo" because it means "I love you" in spanish and it reminds me of all my friends in Mexico, where I visit often.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To form the wires, I would recommend holding the point that you want to start bending at with a clamp and then bend the wires. This keeps the rest of your design from before in tact. Don't worry about dents and the plastic coming off when bending the wire because you'll wrap it with string later.<br />

<div>
Step 4: Start wrapping the string around the wire. I found it was easiest to use clear nail polish at the top to keep the string from moving. It doesn't change the craft's appearance and will save you a headache!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 5: Seal off the end with clear nail polish and.. You're done! </div>
<br />
Hope you enjoyed the craft and the tutorial! Comment below and let me know how your project goes or if you need any clarifications. </div>

Happy crafting!</div>

Happy New Years Eve!<br />
<br />
Well my day has been filled with two things-<br />
1) Getting ready for tonight<br />
2) Knitting like crazy<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM-ywYy3xz8PDUIfct8mAAMqvWIJzTMRWVH80eWgW6Gkxw_44NjTlmjYLwLiTzY18TAqKNuxlAbwFzItzu2Nnne05Hl66cD_MQKldrFXuiBIySeh6IpjX5AJRhykukK5l62tBlq1Qnb60/s1600/brit+phone+case.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="138" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM-ywYy3xz8PDUIfct8mAAMqvWIJzTMRWVH80eWgW6Gkxw_44NjTlmjYLwLiTzY18TAqKNuxlAbwFzItzu2Nnne05Hl66cD_MQKldrFXuiBIySeh6IpjX5AJRhykukK5l62tBlq1Qnb60/s200/brit+phone+case.jpg" width="200" /></a><br />
<br />
This project I have for you guys today is inspired, literally, by my phone case given to me by one of my best friends when she spent a summer in London. (I had to look at it to know what the flag looks like exactly.)<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW_gk9sxdbhcBP4mssax3NA6_BdFuD4EX09ldKEI2qkjOlfyGnNnj6zshyphenhyphenpEdoRAh2ahyh5M0ye6gDbIRy4Vn1vtfxRJj1ZyX8EYx99X7dijFBEZQgprhbvf52B39xJ7ddT09BOJ5sIJo/s1600/1D+poster.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="140" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW_gk9sxdbhcBP4mssax3NA6_BdFuD4EX09ldKEI2qkjOlfyGnNnj6zshyphenhyphenpEdoRAh2ahyh5M0ye6gDbIRy4Vn1vtfxRJj1ZyX8EYx99X7dijFBEZQgprhbvf52B39xJ7ddT09BOJ5sIJo/s200/1D+poster.jpg" width="200" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
But my project was also largely influenced by my love (and slight obsession) with the British (and Irish) boy band One Direction.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: right;">
(Thanks Mom and Dad for the Christmas present! ;) )</div>
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br />
<br />
But please, don't stop reading now! I promise this is the last time for this post that I'll talk about them.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
<br />
Here are the supplies you need to make your own knitted British flag pillow:</div>
<br />
<ul>
<li>Knitting needles</li>
<li>Embroidery needle (to sew pieces together.)</li>
<li>Pillow stuffing (I just bought a cheap pillow and cut it open.)</li>
<li>Red, white and blue yarn</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 1:</div>
<div>
Knit together the following pieces.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
With the white yarn:</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Two large squares.</li>
<ul>
<li>You will sew the edges of these squares together to make the pillow. If you'd like a different color than white to be showing on the back of the pillow then you can use any color yarn, but white seems to be the safest bet.</li>
<li>I don't actually know how large I made my pillows (I think I casted on 70-80 stitches) but whatever size you make your pillow you can adjust the rest of the measurements. Trust me- if I made this project up, you can customize it easily.</li>
</ul>
<li>Four long rectangles</li>
<ul>
<li>For the first two, cast on 19 stitches or enough to make a border for a red rectangle with 17 stitches casted on. (For length, see the corresponding red knitted piece.)</li>
<li>For the second two, cast on 7 stitches or enough to make a border for a red rectangle with 5 stitches casted on.(For length, see the corresponding red knitted piece.)</li>
</ul>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
With the red yarn:</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Two rectangles with 17 stitches casted on. Make them long enough to fit comfortably when placed going across the pillow both up and down.</li>
<ul>
<li>Note: I wish that I had made these pieces a little smaller, but the width is up to your own discretion.</li>
</ul>
<li>Two rectangles with 5 stitches casted on. Make them long enough to fit comfortably when placed diagonally across the pillow.</li>
</ul>
<div>
With the blue yarn:</div>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Four blue squares. I casted on between 12-17 stitches (the numbers varied because I started running out of yarn. hahaha.. oops.) But the bigger the better because it's just the background. </li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9yCeC8gzIiAiVOtCZK8M09t2yF9c_EsiV_NefDIymOc6qNx7FYhv8aUOZnlLfYcYXF6dMHF1DF6h9fOmGsv0ZWLsNyAmXTWkR88iBoDlcGiiqW9AXmyxK6SiITWMSff98D8WFrJh097c/s1600/step+1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9yCeC8gzIiAiVOtCZK8M09t2yF9c_EsiV_NefDIymOc6qNx7FYhv8aUOZnlLfYcYXF6dMHF1DF6h9fOmGsv0ZWLsNyAmXTWkR88iBoDlcGiiqW9AXmyxK6SiITWMSff98D8WFrJh097c/s320/step+1.jpeg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Step 2: Sew together the two large white squares that make the base pillow. Because I don't know how to knit things together with knitting needles yet, I use an embroidery needle to sew together the edges of the pillow. Sew until there is a small opening to add the pillow stuffing and then finish off the edges.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNcYFEcwlWdvuQkRkAvpPQYL_Ggy6Kc8FaZAZu6E2ZxjO7EkxO_rDFCFZYoINIoPshcgX-NuH_mm8GQYBPtbcEG_ex2b5-kQxpX5vXsXEMMkMlL3b-TmDH0eBOa56Z__nZQPCAgoNFvWQ/s1600/step+2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNcYFEcwlWdvuQkRkAvpPQYL_Ggy6Kc8FaZAZu6E2ZxjO7EkxO_rDFCFZYoINIoPshcgX-NuH_mm8GQYBPtbcEG_ex2b5-kQxpX5vXsXEMMkMlL3b-TmDH0eBOa56Z__nZQPCAgoNFvWQ/s320/step+2.jpeg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 3: Sew the blue squares onto the four corners of the pillow using the embroidering needle.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 4: Sew the white, knitted rectangle pieces to their corresponding red, knitted rectangle pieces. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
Step 5: Sew the red rectangle pieces with the white backgrounds diagonally across the pillow, connecting one blue square to the other.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwqqw1slCqy7cy2X0bvKtKK_qj671KSjDv0lRCPUuQ42faP0lIcd0zIM_bAf91I7IFYoJ0cmwjcD1L3eOYMm2HEMWPdvCeL1DnrLaniMqLxmR4g2HCyz9H-G1zF0J0nh3Sx5T-mdhhh8E/s1600/step+4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwqqw1slCqy7cy2X0bvKtKK_qj671KSjDv0lRCPUuQ42faP0lIcd0zIM_bAf91I7IFYoJ0cmwjcD1L3eOYMm2HEMWPdvCeL1DnrLaniMqLxmR4g2HCyz9H-G1zF0J0nh3Sx5T-mdhhh8E/s320/step+4.jpeg" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Step 6: Sew the larger red rectangles with the white background across, going the other way (not diagonal- there should be a word for that.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwuGa6nrsrS0Csvut-LEn3M0cRxgftsO0TYOHef0l0V0B2ZU-e4OtduOHd3ZWSldDobqVyv-ZeVcq4VqsvKoxXdt2h_ShDyr8xQdb-81W2NePOilqyKOOlwqJDaHhCByQZhYUIVZlKnjw/s1600/step+5.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwuGa6nrsrS0Csvut-LEn3M0cRxgftsO0TYOHef0l0V0B2ZU-e4OtduOHd3ZWSldDobqVyv-ZeVcq4VqsvKoxXdt2h_ShDyr8xQdb-81W2NePOilqyKOOlwqJDaHhCByQZhYUIVZlKnjw/s320/step+5.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And there you go! You've finished your pillow!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I can't really tell you how much it will cost or how long it will take because this was made over a long span of time. But I made all of the red, blue and white border pieces all day today. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But I wish you all the best of luck if you attempt to make this! Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Have a great (and safe) night tonight!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Happy New Year, and happy crafting in 2013!</div>

Hey guys!<br />
<br />
So I have to admit, my Wednesday and Thursday nights are a bit more depressing now that The XFactor USA has had it's season finale. And while I was rooting for Carly Rose Sonenclar the whole season, I started to love Fifth Harmony as the weeks went on (I blame my soft spot for pretty harmonies). The second I saw Camila Cabello's cross earrings, I knew I had to have them.<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: right;">
<br /></div>
</div>
I figured that I could get the same pair at Forever 21 for cheap, but all they had were shorter ones with designs or longer ones with like five crosses hanging down, but I just wanted the simple ones that she had.<br />
<br />
So I decided to just make my own pair! And since I'm not a blacksmith, nor could I find a cross pendant exactly how I wanted it, I had to be a little creative and find a way around it.<br />
<br />
The total for this project came out to be $15 for the supplies but I had already bought the earring hooks. You can make something like 3 pairs of earrings from the $15 supplies, so each pair of earrings are worth $5 plus the 20 minutes it takes to get a hang of making them.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPs3FkkofVdccwliMpFudrveWIlEt-rvGHXAI0GlWsFMO61AasIBBKI3TtSrNvCkCpOWzJZTWf_Vt9SAO3cXeqcc3nbLuBstOrqiHDdAzgswrpTNKmvqgr8LYuF1yCawlGM1rB43Wm2tQ/s1600/Supplies.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPs3FkkofVdccwliMpFudrveWIlEt-rvGHXAI0GlWsFMO61AasIBBKI3TtSrNvCkCpOWzJZTWf_Vt9SAO3cXeqcc3nbLuBstOrqiHDdAzgswrpTNKmvqgr8LYuF1yCawlGM1rB43Wm2tQ/s320/Supplies.JPG" width="320" /></a>The supplies you need are:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Eye pins (about 2.5 inches)</li>
<li>Head pins (about 1.5 inches)</li>
<li>Bead stringing wire</li>
<li>Earring hooks</li>
<li>Hot glue gun (optional)</li>
</ul>
<br />
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaJCjnCA046z7NEK_xbgLAU0RD0CVDUZzmm0VxOKMU6AokFeUtb_oX9W-Dlvw2-T8ckoCUuboIzl6DIxz1YhxYvRUtud9IwOJi8NahRQMg2OVJiLsSpyh4naVbpRHh_jQK8_-9vbVTsu4/s1600/step+1.2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaJCjnCA046z7NEK_xbgLAU0RD0CVDUZzmm0VxOKMU6AokFeUtb_oX9W-Dlvw2-T8ckoCUuboIzl6DIxz1YhxYvRUtud9IwOJi8NahRQMg2OVJiLsSpyh4naVbpRHh_jQK8_-9vbVTsu4/s320/step+1.2.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 1: Fasten eye pins (2.5 inches) to earring hooks with the bead stringing wire. </div>
<div>
<span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="text-align: left;">I probably tied mine three or so times. Just tie it tightly until it feels secure.</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5h2i9GV6Al4QXW6Zl3AgXNiMaSXdsEBUSVy9qEF91ee6YzSQua3TNbk8EJG33tTW8YE07JH_o_x1aBewfBPv0fsOS1WFueOi_CerP0eWtK4hyphenhyphen_6kNC8VC_OEYGUygI3IppacrjW2iQgo/s1600/step+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5h2i9GV6Al4QXW6Zl3AgXNiMaSXdsEBUSVy9qEF91ee6YzSQua3TNbk8EJG33tTW8YE07JH_o_x1aBewfBPv0fsOS1WFueOi_CerP0eWtK4hyphenhyphen_6kNC8VC_OEYGUygI3IppacrjW2iQgo/s320/step+2.JPG" width="240" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
Step 2: Put together the head pins (1.5 inches) and place it perpendicular to the eye pins and spaced like a typical cross.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 3: Tie the two pairs of pins together with the beading string by criss-crossing the strings over each other and then tying a knot. I found it easiest to do one set of criss crosses and then tie a knot and then repeat the cycle one or two more times, making it harder for the strings to become untied while trying to tie the rest.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Note: Here's where the optional hot glue gun comes in. You can hot glue gun the ends of the pins together to make them stay in their pairs while you're tying to tie them together. Then once finished you can easily peel off the glue and leave it with the finished product.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And there you have it! In three simple steps you end up with these! </div>

<br />
My name is Micayla and you've arrived at my DIY/Crafting blog!<br />
<br />
I'm currently a senior in high school living in Northern California. I love crafting and have been obsessed with it ever since I started last year, and I haven't stopped since!<br />
<br />
A lot of my crafts are simple, but I'm happy to share my tutorials with anyone who's interested.<br />
<br />
Happy crafting!<br />
